So I decided to start a blog thingy, everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't I...
It will obviously be a documentation of my artistic journey. Stuff I am trying, stuff that sucks, and then of course I will be posting my new works an whatnot. Since I am currently without a "real website" (crosses fingers it will be soon) this will be the next best thing until I can get mine back up an running.
For those of you who are unfamiliar to me, I am a cat lover, an artist, a sister, a designer, a daughter, totally random, bubbly, someone born with glitter in their veins and loves the color pink. I am the sole designer of Kaleidoscope Kitty jewelry and accessories. I design and make jewelry originals for people of all walks. Glam, scrubs, and everything in between, I have a price point for all and hit pretty much all styles. I love to make stuff. I started to learn how to crochet in March 08 and am hooked ( pun intended). So along with my jewelry, paintings, drawings, and wire sculpture, I have now added crochetted items to my list of things I "do". My cats help with many of my creations and are my muses.
The name Kaleidoscope Kitty comes from the fact I use a ton of color, in my jewelry and paintings, much like what is in a kaleidoscope... an the kitty part comes from my little helpers. See there is a method to my madness.
I have an etsy site, I have stuff on there, its www.kaleidoscopekitty.etsy.com I haven't sold anything yet... kinda sad really... I'm tryin tho, I just don't get it I suppose. Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. I don't enjoy talking about my artstuffs, I kinda leave that to other people. If you like it, you like it. And if you don't thats fine. Not everyone is supposed to like your art. If everyone did, it wouldn't be called art now would it? It would just be called normal. And that is just boring. I guess that if you don't like something, no need to be harsh, there is always a way to constuctively criticise. Words like "ugly" don't help.
Anyways now I am just rambling. I am off to make a picture.
ps. The picture is of my most recent painting, it is currently untitled. but I enjoy it alot. I havent made a big painting in a long time and it makes me happy. For those of you who can't tell, its a close up of a butterfly wing.
